French Honor Society (Induction Year & Membership)
Qui? Qu'est-ce que? Pourquoi? Où? Quand? Comment?
*Students must be in their fifth semester of French. Middle School French counts as two semesters. The earliest that a student can join is fall semester of sophomore year unless students begin French 3 as a freshman. For previous 4 semesters of French, students must show an A in French classes (an 88 or above in honors French classes, not counting the extra 7 points).
*Annual dues are $25. Payments will be made online through school OSP (online school payment). A link to the online school payment will be shared with last year's FHS members during the week of Sept. 13. Teachers will check transcripts of new members and they will be notified when they are approved to pay dues. The final deadline to pay dues will be Friday, Oct. 16 at midnight.
*Please Join the Remind! Text @21-22fhs to 81010
*If circumstances permit, first time members will be inducted at a ceremony in late winter or early spring.
To Continue Membership (VERY IMPORTANT for Seniors)
*For continuing requirements for French Honor Society, students must remain active with dues and hours. These hours cannot be counted toward service in other clubs (students may use these service hours for the International Skills Diploma Seal). All service hours must be pre-approved.
*Students must pay their $25 membership yearly.
*In order to receive an honor cord at graduation, seniors must be active members in FHS their senior year. Seniors who qualify for an honor cord need to pay their dues and $13 for their cord.
*****
During the 2021- 2022 school year, French Honor Society will engage in service opportunities that promote the French language and culture. We will also engage in service opportunities which help students at an English school in Haiti learn English.
